Welcome to Joensuu Art Museum!

Joensuu Art Museum is located in the centre of Joensuu, in a beautiful neo-renaissance building near the marketplace. The museum's permanent exhibitions include Finnish art from 1850s to modern days, Eastern Orthodox icons, antiquities, Chinese art and European church art. The museum also organizes 3–5 temporary exhibitions a year, presenting artists from Finland and abroad.

Four contemporary Estonian artists. Collaboration with Tallinn Art Hall.

Blue and Red – Two Journeys: Nanna Susi & Canal Cheong Jagerroos

Nanna Susi is one of the most internationally successful Finnish artists known for her expressionistic, colourful paintings. Canal Cheong Jagerroos is a Chinese artist who combines traditional Chinese art with western style in her own unique way. In 2015, the two artists started a project called Blue and Red and travelled together across Finland and China. The works in the exhibition are inspired by their journey.

Reijo Turunen & Harri Turunen

Painter Reijo Turunen and sculptor Harri Turunen are North Karelian brothers and artists.

Museum Shop & Lounge

In our Museum Shop you can buy Joensuu Art Museum's own publications, art-themed products, such as postcards, posters, umbrellas, canvas bags and pocket mirrors, as well as hand-made Finnish jewellery.

There is a lounge area on the ground floor with sofas, books and magazines. You can visit the lounge for free during the museum's opening hours to sit and rest, meet friends or read. Free WiFi!
