Joensuu Art Museum is closed starting 5th of February 2024. A new exhibition will open in the summer 2024.

  • Museum ticket 8 €
  • Combination ticket including Joensuu Art Museum and North Karelian Museum 12 € (valid on the day of purchase)
  • Students, pensioners, unemployed, children (7–17 years) 4 €
  • Children under 7 for free
  • Family ticket (2 adults, 1–3 children) 14 €
  • Groups of more than 10 persons 4 €/person
  • Club card (valid for 12 months) 30 €/adults, 20 €/children

Open Days 2023

There's a free entrance to the museum on the first wednesday of the month from 4pm to 7pm (1 Jan, 1 Feb, 1 March, 5 April, 6 Sept, 4 Oct, 1 Nov & 13 Dec).

There's also a free entrance to the museum on special theme days. Year 2023 open days are as following: Kalevala day 28 February, International Museum Day 18 May, Joen yö 19 August, Joensuu Day 29 November.


Book a guided tour

Guided tours are available by advance booking. The tour takes about 45 minutes.

  • Guided tour in English or Russian: 67 € (Saturdays 70 €, Sundays and public holidays 134 €)
  • Guided tour in Finnish: 62 € (Saturdays 64 €, Sundays and public holidays 124 €)

Joensuu Art Museum is located in the centre of Joensuu close to the market square, ca 1 km from the train station. Show on map

 

Parking and Accessibility

It is possible to drop passengers off by the museum's front door. Parking is prohibited in the museum grounds. There is a public parking lot right next to the museum across the street Koskikatu.

The front door and the toilets are accessible by wheelchair, but the doors do not open automatically. The personnel is happy to help you. There is a lift in the building, providing access to all three floors. Children of all ages are welcome to visit the museum.


Museum Shop & Lounge

The Museum Shop is on the ground floor. We sell the museum's own books (also in English), art-themed products, such as postcards, posters, umbrellas, bags, pocket mirrors, and hand-made Finnish jewellery.

There is a lounge area on the ground floor with sofas, books and magazines. You can visit the lounge for free during the museum's opening hours to sit and rest or meet friends. Free WiFi!
