Vocational and higher education

Joensuu is a vibrant university town, and we have the most students in relation to the inhabitants in Finland. There are over 20,000 students in town and about 10% of them from abroad. The campus of the University of Eastern Finland is located next to the city center and in the vicinity of Mehtimäki sports park. The educational offer is complemented by Karelia University of Applied Sciences and Riveria vocational training. Music education is provided by the conservatory.

In Joensuu, there is a huge range of education from university to day care pedagogics and versatile topics in a condensed geographical area at the Finnish Lakeland.
